Anti-aircraft battery, Turku, Finland

Visited 20.1.2013 by skkye & jonahi. Utopistic and colorful space ships have landed on the Earth from outer space! No, but Finnish army has built these fixed anti-aircraft batteries during the Winter War, in 1940, to hold Swedish cannons that were supposed to save the inhabitants of Turku from the Russian bombs that were destroying numerous buildings and killing many people. We climbed up on the hill to have a look on one battery of these bunkers that are forgotten by almost everyone else apart from graffiti painters, mountain bikers, urban explorers and occasional dog walkers. The concrete structures had buried in snow and only glimpses of colors could be seen, but I think they were quite nice-looking that way.
